Paynesville Historical Society & Museum offers a research room for you to research family history, businesses, churches and other local historical information. We also offer a photo room for research. Both offer easy access to historical information.
This collection of interviews includes many previous students of country schools from the area. These are amazing pieces of history, and provides a personal view of the experiences of those who attended school from a time passed.
This collection of interviews will take you back to day before modern day equipment, and showcases the dedication of farmers and their families.
These interviews provide glimpses of farming routines, culture, practices, and land ethic of years ago.
PHS received a grant to have our photos duplicated and the originals saved in safe archive materials. This collection of photos date back many years, and are available for public research. You are able to dig deep into family, city and area history photos.
We are proud to partner with the Minnesota Historical Society to offer easy access to extensive historical documentation.

The Minnesota Digital Newspaper Hub is a searchable website from the Minnesota Historical Society that makes millions of pages of Minnesota newspapers available online.
The Hub contains geographically and culturally diverse newspapers published between 1849 and today.
